WHAT'S HAPPENING

Volunteers Needed for Washington Square Park’s KaBOOM Playground Build

Written by Mary Beth Schwartzwalder  • October 19, 2015

Washington Square park

This Wednesday and Thursday, Washington Square Park is getting a makeover. Thanks to support from KaBOOM, a group of neighborhood residents led by Maureen Dore are building several play structures for the children in our community. Volunteers are needed to help dig, assemble, and surface the new playground, creating a revamped, family-friendly space.

You may remember Maureen as the driving force in the Union Park build in 2012. That project was also funded in part by KaBOOM,  a national non-profit “dedicated to giving all kids the childhood they deserve.”
